You do not need a complicated AI stack to start working differently. You need a small system you will actually reuse.
Minute 0–5: List your recurring analyst tasks
Write down the work you repeat: SQL drafting, debugging, data cleaning, documentation, KPI definitions, stakeholder summaries or exploratory analysis.
Minute 5–10: Assign AI a role
Decide where AI helps: drafting, explaining, reviewing, generating test cases or documenting. Avoid making “do the analysis” the entire role.
Minute 10–20: Create validation gates
For each recurring task, define two or three checks. For SQL, that might be grain, row counts and reconciled totals.
Minute 20–25: Save reusable structures
Keep templates for the task and its checks. Save the structure, not just the wording of a prompt.
Minute 25–30: Test it on one real task
Run the workflow on something you actually need to finish. If a step adds no value, remove it.
The goal is a small analyst operating system that gets better with use. My first ebook goes deeper into this approach.
